whyjustinwhy spotlights Chelsea Brown

Chelsea picked Michael and me up from Love Field and drove us to DFW airport on a brief layover on our way to New York. What she deserves in return is 47 cents a mile for gas/mileage as well as twenty-five dollars per hour for time spent going out of her way to help us. But we live in a world where the exchange of money between friends is considerably uncomfortable (unless the payment is made in the form of taking one out to dinner). So, instead of cash, I’ve decided to pay her back with the first whyjustinwhy friend spotlight. The market value on a whyjustinwhy spotlight is $40, so this should adequately compensate her for her troubles.

I’ll begin with sports. Typically, a girl will laugh during a recreational game of volleyball if she hits the ball into the net. Not Chelsea. For example, when we play tennis, she analyzes why she misses shots and is always improving because of it. Likewise, when she pwns me in golf, she doesn’t get frustrated with my lack of skill. Instead, she sees my desire to improve, and patiently teaches me how to do better next time.

Chelsea’s emotions rise and fall with A&M sporting events. Not handing the ball off to Jorvorskie Lane at the 2 yard line against Oklahoma will eat at her all day. It's comforting to have a like-minded friend when it comes to Aggie sports.

Chelsea is also a forgiving friend. She’ll introduce me to any friend group, knowing that my radical conservatism could surface at any time during any conversation.

Chelsea is respected by everyone, male and female. She has a higher tolerance for Corona than me. She’s a natural leader, exceptionally smart, super athletic, a dependable friend, and a great 42 partner (many know us by our 42 moniker, the Comeback Kids). Thanks, Chelsea, for letting me hang out with you. Happy birthday.

couldn't agree more with your assessment. what an honor to be featured on whyjustinwhy amidst such witty banter and thoughtful insight; perhaps i'll reconsider the chicken and dumplings that you've owed me for two years.

Whoa a Kayli post? Huge honor! I'm guessing the other is Langston, and it's a steak dinner that I owe you. I'm ready when you are.

Moose!
Somewhere along the line*, you have been blessed with truly amazing friends, even if some of them only slightly resemble Kevin Bacon or whomever you designate. OK, Lebron James is a dead ringer. (Look up where "dead ringer" came from. It'll curl your toes.)

Long live the sweet puppies.

*Mostly, but not totally, A&M

Um, I am going to go ahead and guess that you don't have any friends that didn't go to A&M....right?
